This week we spent most of our time working on our video essays. Like I said before, my essay is on why I believe traveling is a necessity. I thought this topic was fitting for me because I am addicted to traveling. As I explain in my essay, I have been traveling for years and have been to over eight different countries of the world. It also seemed like a unique topic.
I talked before about how I was uncertain about recording my voice. Well it definitely proved to be a struggle. In my first recording I talked much too swiftly. Not only that, but i accidentally chose to finish the video on the WeVideo website. This was an issue because WeVideo only allows five minutes of publishing time, even if it’s the same video. You can only publish at or under five minutes of video. So, unfortunately, I had to completely make a whole new WeVideo account and restart my video. That was fun. I had about two days time to finish it.
Although it was frustrating, I worked very hard at home to finally pound out a polished final product that was not only better than the first draft, but that I was happy with. When watching it, i thought everything flowed smoothly and that all the transitions went well together. I was also very proud that I was able to record the whole thing without stuttering, as i stutter and stammer horribly when I’m anxious. But that was one of the positive aspects of recording and presenting a video rather than presenting our written essays in front of the class. I would have been much more anxious doing that and would have stuttered profoundly.
